Control of metal installations, oil and gas pipelines, steel constructions, vessels under pressure and tanks/containers, welded joints, sheet, tubular profile, metal production, castings, forgings. Control is performed via:
- Radiographic /gamma and X-ray/ – detection of surface and subsurface imperfections (type and size), such as porosity, cavities, undercut, solid inclusion (slag, flux, gas, metallic inclusions), cracks, lack of fusion and penetration, etc.
- Ultrasonic testing of welded joints – detection of internal imperfections (type and dimensions/size).
- Ultrasonic thickness measurement of metals and metallic products.
- Magnetic particle testing of welded joints, castings, metals and metallic products – detection of surface and subsurface imperfections (type and dimensions/size). The method is applicable only to ferromagnetic materials.
- Liquid Penetrant testing – detection of incompleteness with outlet on the surface (type, size and location/disposition); The method is not applicable to porous materials.
- Visual inspection – external macro imperfections (type and size).
- Leak testing (vacuum control) and hydraulic testing – detection and location of leaks. Detection of passive incompleteness, as well as testing of devices or systems at elevated parameters by creating lower or higher pressure than the working equipment.
